Delicious Carmel Apples made w/ Martha Stewart's Carmel recipe.
Super delicious!

Fun Halloween in Taos, New Mexico with the Higdon's

Harper took the identity of Luke Sky Walker
while Rowan was a soft and lovable Lion

We carved awesome jack-o-lanterns; partied @ Twirl; trick-or-treated on the Plaza (town square); and attended the Taos Ward's fall celebration eating traditional Frito pie with locally famous spicy red chilies - Yummy!

HI,

I am doing good. How are you guys doing ? We get enough money to eat mom don't worry, we just don't get to eat nice stuff like what I am used to back at home. We just eat rice every day. This week has been very hard and stressful. We have been working so hard, and we only really have one progressing investigator at this time. Every one just does not have the time for us and we are getting punted a lot! Our investigator Lily Beth that I told you about a while back that we met that I said was so cool dropped us, so that really sucks. These two kids that we were teaching their parents dropped us and told us not to come back. Almost all of the new investigators that we have tracked and got return appointment with us were either not there when we went back or did not have time for us. It is stressful. The two people that have baptism dates that we are teaching have not been coming to church also. We are teaching this 16 year old girl, she is a referral from a member. We teach her every other night, she is progressing very fast though. She keeps all of her commitments and reads and understands everything we teach and has received an answer to her prayer about the Book of Mormon and the Prophet Joseph Smith. She has been coming to church also. That is the only investigator that is really progressing.

I love you guys and I miss you both so very much. I miss the dog too. Well I love you so much and will talk to you next Monday. :)Love Elder Pincock

This canning season produced jars of pickled beets, cherry syrup, lots of string beans and tomatoes, spaghetti sauce, salsa, carrots, and jam. Glad to be done. Anticipating eating the contents of every jar with delight!

Fall/Autumn is definitely my favorite season. Many people share this sentiment. I believe it is the favorite because all the work of the growing season is gathered in and the heat has subsided to a wonderful temperature that makes one want to remain outdoors forever. Of course, the beauty of the turning leaves is magnificent and makes the heart fill up with gratitude for God's love for his children. The other most precious thing about the fall season is the best foods of the year - peaches, pears, apples, pumpkins, squash, tomatoes, potatoes, yams, etc. I love the look, smell, sight, flavor, and smells of fall produce. Canning jars filled with delicious things sitting on the counter top waiting to go into storage are the most fulfilling artwork ever created. I also love the fall holidays - Halloween and Thanksgiving. The fun and creativity of dressing up in wild costumes to go about giving and receiving delicious, wonderful candy adds joy to life. To gather together with those most loved to prepare and partake of a feast of good things fills up the heart with gratitude and thanksgiving for the opportunity of experiencing life and all its grand beauties and blessings. Oh! how I love the Fall/Autumn and wish it lasted so much longer than it does.

Lost Name Tag Missionary Report

Pic's from the Philippines - What a beautiful place, eh? The missionaries make it even more so.

What do you think of Jordi's apartment?
Elder Pincock says:
"I am doing well. My feet are fine. I wear my sandals every day. I love my sandals. I have to scrub the mud off them every morning before we go out though. I don’t wear my other shoes too much, unless it is raining hard, so that way my feet stay dry. I am very glad we got water proof shoes. I keep one pair, the nice pair that is not the rugged and tough ones, the ones that are fancier I keep and wear only to district meetings, zone conferences, and zone interviews. It’s nice to be able to wear sandals because it lets your feet breath so they do not sweat. When they wear out I will probably have you send me another pair."
"Ya, the restaurant that is in the pictures last time is a very nice restaurant. Guess what we ate! RICE! Every restaurant is rice. It is really good there though. They give you a big grilled chicken breast and unlimited rice. It’s good. They have some amazing buko salad there too."
"Me and my companion are getting along good. He has taught me a lot; he has been a district leader twice so he knows how to do missionary work - its good. We have been working very hard. We got 31 lessons taught this week and that was with out working for half the day on Saturday because of General Conference. It’s hard because we have been working so hard and for some reason a lot of our investigators are going down hill, they have not been attending church and we have been getting punted at teaching appointments, it sucks. Because we are working so hard Satan is doing his best to try and get our investigators to not progress. I guess we just need to work harder. I am jealous of the cold weather there; I wish it could feel like that here."
"We got to watch Conference on Saturday and Sunday. We watched it at the stake center. It was awesome. My favorite talk was on the Sunday afternoon session of conference by Elder Jeffrey R Holland. He gave an amazing and powerful talk, holy cow. I don’t think I have heard a talk so powerful and bold as that, it was awesome. Jeffrey R Holland is an amazing speaker and has an amazing testimony. If only all of our investigators could have been there to here it."
"I lost my name tag this week. It fell off while we were riding on a trike and I did not know. I did not know I lost it until we got to our appointment and our investigators asked were it was. So now I have to wear my other name tag that has a clip on it that I have to clip to my tie for 3 weeks while they have another one made, it sucks."
"Could you please send me some recipes of some easy and cheap food that I could make? Could you send me the recipe for stroganoff, the dinner meal that has rice and cream of mushroom soup and meat in it? I would greatly enjoy that if you could do that. I have found some awesome peanut butter here. Peanut butter is way expensive if you buy JIF peanut butter and it is in a really small container. I found some peanut butter that is fresh made from the Philippines, you can find it in every grocery story, and it is in a BIG bottle. I bought some of that for some protein. It is so good. I just eat out of it with a spoon. I have been eating a lot of peanut butter. That is like my favorite snack now."
"I love you so much and I hope to here from you soon."
Love Elder Jordi Pincock
